The Question?
My products are manufactured overseas. They are tested by an overseas ILAC accredited NDT company (Accreditation in accordance with ISO 17020). Is the test certificate equivalent to NATA accredited NDT facility in Australia?
The Answer,
No. The test certificate is not equivalent to NATA accredited test facility in Australia. NATA offers ILAC accreditation in accordance with ISO 17025.
ISO 17025 and ISO 17020 are not equivalent standards. Although an overseas‐based 17020 accredited company’s reports would be treated as equivalent to an Australian 17020 accredited company’s report (under the ILAC
MRA), it would not be regarded the same as an 17025 accredited company’s report.
