Non destructive testing (NDT) is an engineering practice where material characteristics such as physical and chemical properties, product condition, size, shape and discontinuities can be detected, examined and evaluated without destroying or damaging the product. These tests are performed in a manner that does not affect the future usefulness of the object or material.
NDT is used for quality assurance and ensuring product compliance for welds, castings, forgings and other wrought products. NDT is also used as part of the condition monitoring practices for plant and asset life assessment, reliability engineering and maintenance.
LMATS provides a range of non-destructive testing and advanced NDT services. Navigate the menus or use the search function to find out more.
